ReadysetDC & Curating for a Cause present “RESTORE : Japan”

Exhibition and Art Auction Event to Benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society

As the waters recede on the coasts of Japan the DC art community joins together to provide relief for all those who have lost everything in one of the most devastating natural disasters in the history of man.

On Thursday, March 31st, 2011, ReadysetDC and Curating for a Cause team up to host RESTORE: Japan at Lamont Bishop Gallery.

RESTORE: Japan will feature artwork by 32 of the area’s top visual artists. The exhibition is curated by ReadysetDC’s Peter Chang and Curating for a Cause’s Jackie Cantwell and Allison Byers and will feature an art auction.

Civilian Art Projects launches two new photography exhibitions of work by women artists. The America Project: Utopia, new work by celebrated photographer Noelle K. “Georgetown Gallery Gaze Valentine’s Date Night”  Georgetown’s monthly gallery walk, coined the “Georgetown Gallery Gaze,” is held every third Friday of the month. At the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue NW and M Street NW. The event is held at various galleries in that vicinity from 5-8pm.  To see a list of participating galleries check out their site here.

“Activation 2719”: No Kings Collective will transform a beautiful, newly renovated, 4-story Columbia Heights row house into a temporary gallery. Location at 13th and Girard Streets.The opening event will start at 6pm and will include a bar, food provided by Commonwealth Gastropub, and musical entertainment for the evening.
